Displaced and the Multiverse
Let us begin, dear readers, with the role of Displaced in their Multiverse.
The Multiverse:
The Multiverse, shall we say, is big. Really, spectacularly big. Bigger than the concept of big itself. The physics of it and the Greater Void will be discussed later.
For now, the most important thing to consider about the Multiverse is that it is actively hostile to most life forms within its confines, unless they are residing within a Universe. Another thing to consider is that, while travelling through the Void is rather dangerous for most Displaced, travelling from Universe to Universe is actually rather simple when it comes to Displaced.
This is all because of the wonderful invention known as Tokens.
Tokens:
Tokens are objects that any and all Displaced are able to make, either through use of strange powers or with the aid of others.
The creation of a Token differs from Displaced to Displaced, though they are almost unanimously an object with some sort of personal connection to the Displaced. If not, then they are most likely just some random item that they picked off the ground or something similar.
Token creation as a whole, however, requires that a Displaced infuse an object with the innate “shell” of Void “energy” surrounding them and cast the object into the Void. However, for most this is a subconscious action, disguised as simply infusing some of their normal magic/energy/whatever, perhaps with a long winded phrase or two and then throwing the newly created Token into the Void, whereupon it splits into infinite copies of itself which proceed to land somewhere on any Universe that happens to take it in.
Examples of Tokens include Kat Shifter’s black diamond, Drake Long’s blue scale, Gilgamesh’s Genji Gloves, Auric Fulcrum’s golden coin, Teridax’s Makuta Stone, etc etc.
Tokens allow Displaced to travel through the Void, though most of the time they are not truly traveling through the Void, rather more using the Void as sort of a slingshot and compressing the “space” between Universes so that they spend less than an instant within its hostile and destructive depths.
However, while Tokens provide the simplest and most expedient route of travel through the Multiverse, there are other ways in which to traverse the great paradoxical expanse between Universes.
Travel in the Void:
Void Travel is fairly easy for those with the proper vehicles. For example, the Gummi Ships so prominently featured in Kingdom Hearts. However, each ship must be specially designed to combat the paradoxical and overall infinitely hostile nature of the Void. That being said, should one decide to actually take the time to fly through the endless expanse of paradoxical nothingness, one would see wonders.
Said wonders will be covered later.
Another method of Void Travel is to simply sheathe oneself in the “energy” of the Void and form a pathway between Universes. This is similar in manner to the way Tokens work, but is more complicated and has no bounded or defined destination save for whatever area happens to be in your path.
